Dr. Marianne Botha

I love everything about general practice. I qualified as a medical doctor in 1990 from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. After working in a hospital for 1 year I decided to go into general practice, and owned my own solo practice in a small town. I was the only doctor in town for 15 years so I got a lot of experience over the years in all areas. After selling the surgery, we moved to a city where I was part of a group practice for 2 years. During this time, I also assisted surgeons during major operations.

My husband and I, with our 2 sons, immigrated to Australia in 2008. I immediately started working as GP in a big medical centre and passed my fellowship exam (FRACGP) in 2010. It is really difficult to choose my favourite part of General practice because I love working with people from all age groups. Female health, paediatric medicine, skin checks and small surgical procedures are special interests.

In my free time, I like spending quality time with my husband and sons.

I keep fit and healthy by running regularly.

Dr. Liesel Whyte

I am delighted to be part of the Haan Health team, and to live and work in the beautiful Broadbeach.

My approach is holistic and patient centred, with a focus on patient oriented goals. I strive to understand my patients’ health challenges through comprehensive and detailed consultations, and then I work with my patients to optimise their health outcomes and their quality of life. My special interests include adolescent and women’s health, prevention of disease, and healthy aging of the mind and body.

I graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School. Prior to this I had completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology, at UNSW. I worked in ED at Lismore Base Hospital for 10 years. I really enjoyed the fast paced work but I was forever trying to follow up my patients progress and decided to train in General Practice. For five years I worked in ED and as a GP and found this to be very satisfying, both personally and professionally.

Outside the practice, I am a mother of 2 grown up daughters, and I love to cook, catch up with friends, and practice pilates.

Dr. Nicole Lehmann (Niki)

I graduated as an MD from Griffith University in 2014 and has since been committed to providing the local community with dedicated medical care in all aspects of General Practice.

My areas of interest include – skin checks, women’s health, antenatal shared care, family medicine, child and adolescent health, aged care, chronic disease management and palliative care.

Dr. Allison Lavelle (Ali)

I was born and raised in Perth, WA and actually did medical school twice – the 1st 3 years at UWA in Perth at age 17 and finishing at The University of Newcastle in 2001 while also raising my infant son.
I received my fellowship with RACGP in 2006 whilst working rurally in Gloucester NSW where I became an associate owner of the practice for 5 years, and also worked at the local hospital and emergency department on-call.
In 2010 we moved our family to the Gold Coast and I have become an established GP here over the last 10 + years.
I love all aspects of general practice, the variety and wonderful personalities I get to meet and treat, the families I get to see grow.  I have a particular love and strength in all areas of mental health, and have upskilled in paediatrics, skin checks and minor surgery, women’s health and preventative health, or Wellness.
I am a First Nations doctor and member of the Australian Indiginous Doctors Association and welcome with open arms all nationalities as well as First Nations people.
I spent 2.5 years recently travelling solo around Australia in my campervan, doing locum work around the country and am now settled back home on the Coast, on my beautiful mini acreage property with my grown-up son and his band.
I like to spend my spare time potterring in the garden and practicing mindfulness meditation and yoga.  I work part time 3 days per week and this allows me to reset and always bring a full vessel of attention, energy and compassion to my patients.
I am very proud to be part of the Haan Health team and look forward to meeting everyone.
