I love everything about general practice. I qualified as a medical doctor in 1990 from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. After working in a hospital for 1 year I decided to go into general practice, and owned my own solo practice in a small town. I was the only doctor in town for 15 years so I got a lot of experience over the years in all areas. After selling the surgery, we moved to a city where I was part of a group practice for 2 years. During this time, I also assisted surgeons during major operations.
My husband and I, with our 2 sons, immigrated to Australia in 2008. I immediately started working as GP in a big medical centre and passed my fellowship exam (FRACGP) in 2010. It is really difficult to choose my favourite part of General practice because I love working with people from all age groups. Female health, paediatric medicine, skin checks and small surgical procedures are special interests.
In my free time, I like spending quality time with my husband and sons.
I really enjoy being a part of the HAAN family, a family with a mission to make a change. I graduated from Pakistan and then after my initial training I went to the UK and settled there, spent a couple of years in New Zealand and then finally moving to Australia and started at Ayr Hospital which provided me with a lot of opportunities to learn and polish my skills. I have worked in different specialities and sub specialities over the years and finally decided to settle in General Practice. My special interests are in Men’s Health, Skin Cancer detection and removal and I also enjoy Cosmetic Medicine. I also perform vasectomies and circumcisions.
In my free time I do like travelling and photography.
I believe my strengths as a GP are in my attention to detail, ability to listen, my diagnostic approach to “solving a mystery/problem” and not being afraid to start from the beginning, possibly taking a different approach to those before me. I am thorough, conscientious and non-judgmental and I am excited to be part of the Haan Health team.
I care about my patients and try to provide a comprehensive health care service for them, whether this is with me alone, or with referral to other medical colleagues or Allied Health services for their expertise and assistance.
My special interests are in Womens’ and Childrens’ Health including contraception, pre-conception counselling, Fertility investigations, Antenatal care, post-partum and neonatal care, Childrens’ Health checks, general gynaecology problems, perimenopause and post-menopause care, breast care/screening. I am trained in insertion and removal of LARC contraception including copper and Progesterone -releasing IUD’s and Implanon.
I am married and have 2 teenage children and enjoy spending time with them when I am not seeing patients.
After a number of years working in the hospital setting and particularly the Intensive Care, I have found a new home at Haan Health in Broadbeach.
My philosophy of thorough all rounded care is something I strongly value and is what I have found in working in this practice.
Haan Health is a supporting and welcoming environment treating all people equally and seeing health care as a lifelong partnership between patient and Doctor.
I graduated from The University of Sydney in 2013 and have been based on the Gold Coast since. My junior years in Medicine were based at The Tweed Hospital but I have been fortunate enough to experience Medicine throughout a large part of Australia.
My special interests are that of Men’s Health, ENT, Aged care and Palliative Medicine.
Outside of work I enjoy to Surf, row Surfboats for the mighty Currumbin Vikings, travel, fish and spend time with my family and friends.
Hi, I’m Jeremy – one of the GP’s here at Haan Health in Upper Coomera. I choose to work with Haan Health as they encourage me to practice comprehensive and non-judgemental medicine in a supportive setting. I’m allocated sufficient time with my patients do a thorough assessment, consider all differential diagnoses and properly explain the diagnosis and management plan.
I’m committed to Haan’s philosophy of individualised approach, to start with treating disease and progress to optimising aspects of good health. I think one of my strengths is my ability to help patients understand their health, I encourage lifestyle strategies to prevent illness and explain what to expect from different treatments and the recovery process.
I studied medicine at Uni of QLD. Most of my experience is as a hospital doctor in a variety of specialty fields. I have special interests in chronic pain management, sleep and respiratory medicine and lifestyle medicine.
In my spare time I like rock climbing, surfing and anything outdoors. I have a strong belief that doctors should practice what we preach so this year I’ve made a new goal to run the gold coast marathon.
